An Elegant (and Freezing!) Biltmore Engagement
From the very first phone call with Carsyn, I knew I wanted to work with her. She’s the kind of person who instantly makes you feel at ease, and when she told me she loves candid, real moments, I knew we’d be a perfect match. She and Zach are getting married in April, and I cannot wait to make another trip to Asheville to celebrate with them!
For their engagement session at the Biltmore, we went all out. We walked (a lot), talked, laughed, and shot for hours. If you’ve ever been to the Biltmore, you know—it’s MASSIVE. And with every turn, there’s another stunning backdrop. The grand architecture, intricate details, and mountain views made this one of the most breathtaking sessions I’ve ever done.
Braving the Cold with Style.
But let me tell you, it was FREEZING. Like, truly bone-chilling. And yet, these two? Absolute champs. You’d never know how cold it was because their chemistry just radiates warmth. Carsyn started in a jaw-dropping red gown—elegant, regal, and the perfect contrast to the Biltmore’s historic charm. Then, she changed into a classic white dress, giving us a little sneak peek of their wedding day vibes.
Whether they were stepping up the grand staircase or cozying up with the Blue Ridge Mountains behind them, every moment felt straight out of a fairytale. This session was a full-day adventure, but SO worth it. By the end, it felt less like work and more like spending time with old friends. Now, we’re officially on the countdown to their April wedding, and if their big day is anything like this engagement session? It’s going to be incredible.
If you're planning an engagement session at the Biltmore, here are a few tips! First, make sure to purchase grounds passes in advance so you have access to the best photo spots. The estate is HUGE, so wear comfortable shoes for walking between locations. And if you have time, book a wine tasting at the Biltmore Winery—it’s the perfect way to end the day!
