Woah. First blog post ever! I am trying to step out of my comfort zone a bit and push myself to new limits. I have never been an amazing writer, it's just not my thing; however I'm always up for a new challenge and learning more. I had been dying to do a newborn in home session. I think more intimate settings like your home make for even more special memories, especially for newborns. Your home will most likely be the house they take their first steps in, say their first words, and spend their first holidays. I cannot stress enough how important it is to document these special moments of your babies first few weeks in your home. The precious memories this kind of session will create will be some of your favorites for a lifetime.
No, you do not have to have the perfect home to take pictures in. In home sessions are more about intimate and meaningful moments being captured than anything else. Kara Jo's in home session was the most perfect morning and not just because I was able to snuggle a beautiful baby girl. As soon as I walked into the nursery I was dying to get my camera out. Megan, her sweet mom, was rocking Kara in the corner by a window that was pouring in the most natural light. If you're a photographer, you understand. If not, the natural light makes for the best images and best quality. Those were some of my favorite photos of her and Kara.
We did several outfit changes and even brought their fur babies in for some pictures. Isn't it crazy how dogs are protective over babies? Megan's labs were loving on Kara the entire time and it was one of the most precious moments I have ever captured. I will add those, don't worry haha! I was there for about 3 hours and that's ok. That's one of my favorite parts of these in home sessions. We can take our time and give your little one as much time as they need to be comfortable and relax. We have time for them to eat and time for you to change them. I am beyond excited for everyone to see these special moments and this cutie.
